Exhibition Summary
The Vanitas still life tradition uses skulls, hourglasses, and withering flowers to convey one message, Memento Mori: remember that you are mortal. This exhibition reframes that message through the lens of Vedanta, a school of Vedic philosophy holding that the soul is eternal. In Latin, I say instead:
Memento te aeternum esse: remember that you are eternal.
