My Photographic Background
I grew up in the analogue world of 35mm film cameras during the 1980s. Film photography is the aesthetic the seems most natural to me. I never studied photography in the traditional sense. I am largely self taught with a visual style that can be best described as cinematic and classic.

What makes my work different?
I shoot film, this is in contrast to the trend of digital photography amongst most photographers today.

The film medium is one crucial flavour of my work. The other key characteristic of my work is consciousness. Through years of daily meditation practices I have explored the nature of my consciousness.

This daily meditation practice matured so as to bring a meditation experience with eyes closed out into my everyday activity outside of meditation. I live life with an underlying sense of unity with everyone and everything. When I photograph a flower I perceive the flower as a living being with a personality. I also experience a phenomena that I call "mirroring." I perceive that the flower and I are connected in a very refined and subtle level of life.

My art has a specific purpose
Art has the power to transform consciousness. If the artist can tune their awareness to their inner transcendent self while creating art, they can transfer that experience onto their artwork. The film prints I create are intended to act much like a meditation practice. Providing an experience of harmony and connection with life.
